The Human Centipede - complete horror or horror-comedy?
Directed by Tom Six the ‘The Human Centipede’ is going to be released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 5, 2010. The story of the Human Centipede revolves around a crazy retired surgeon. He detains a couple of American tourists in Germany and comes up with a plan to generate a human centipede by putting them together. The tourists are two American girls on a trip across Europe.
Heiter’s plans, in the Human Centipede, is to attach the two American girls to each other and then with an unfortunate Japanese tourist. Heiter has long been fantasizing of a human centipede.
Selling point of the Human Centipede is that Dr Heiter will capture three human beings and stitch them in a line so that they successfully turn into one living thing with one digestive system.
The Human Centipede has been advertised as a complete horror, but logically the film falls into the horror-comedy type. It has been learned that the DVD of the Human Centipede will be available for the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of $24.98. The Human Centipede will run on Blu-ray at the MSRP of $29.98.
The Human Centipede is set up in a European discreet style. It has been reported that the camera work of The Human Centipede has been composed: all tripod, pan and dolly, with none of delicate editing. This may seem unwise as far as its subject matter is concerned, but the film is in reality quite reserved. The Human Centipede has no sexual angle used except a little un-erotic nudity. The soundtrack is bland and neat.
The Human Centipede will be screened at the Apollo Piccadilly in London. The screening will be followed by question and answer session with the director.
